Job Title: Financial Reports Advisor

Division: Accounting & Finance

Position Summary: The FRA is a needs-based information provider that develops and enhances management, financial and ad-hoc reports to improve management’s ability to make well-informed timely decisions. Serves as a key contact who communicates well with associates at all levels of First Reliance Bank’s organizational structure and assists them with identifying their reporting needs and utilizing financial information.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting

  • Manage the preparation of monthly internal management reporting and completes periodic internal management reports.
  • Monitors financial trends and reports it to management team.
  • Consults with internal management to develop new/improved financial reporting.
  • Provides user support, training, and set-up of reports.
  • Liaise with various departments on developing improved financial reporting by developing and preparing custom reports.
  • Recommend ways to further automate the reporting process.
  • Prepare forecasts, variances, projections, and ad-hoc reporting and analysis for the company and its various departments
  • Assist in the development of corporate policies, procedures, and internal control documentation for the financial reporting process

2. Compliance

  • Assist in the preparation of assigned schedules/documents for internal/external audits and regulatory reports, including FDIC, Federal Reserve Bank, and SEC reports and filings.
  • Coordinate SOX documentation and remediation efforts, working closely with Internal Audit to achieve defined objectives

3. Accounting

  • Assist in and/or analyze significant areas of the monthly accounting close process.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or equivalent education and experience in a related field.
  • 2 years accounting or related experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, audit standards, and internal controls over financial reporting theory, practice, and application is necessary, as well as knowledge of SEC and FDIC reporting practices
  • Possesses strong analytical and project management skills and have the ability to organize workload and handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Strong judgment and interpersonal communications skills required
  • Capable of organizing work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively among individual with varied financial and technical backgrounds
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access. Proficiency with accounting software programs is required
  • Experience with query building from a central data warehouse
  • Extensive experience in ODBC programming
