Simple Checking

Banking "Green" has its rewards. No monthly fee when you enroll in eStatements; a $5 monthly fee without eStatements.

  • Tiered interest on balances of $.01 to less than $500, $500 to less than $5,000 and $5,000 or greater

    • $10 monthly fee on average daily collected balances less than $500
    • $5 monthly fee on average daily collected balances of $500 to less than $5,000

Account Protection

We offer several services to help you manage your account and keep it in good standing.

Overdraft Protection**

  • An unsecured line of credit designed to automatically advance to your checking account if and when the account balance falls below zero.

Automated Sweep

  • Set up automatic transfers from another deposit account to your checking to protect your account from a possible overdraft.
  • $3 fee per automatic transfer.

Bounce Protection***

  • Bounce Protection will automatically be applied to your checking account. (upon qualification)
  • You will still be charged non-sufficient fund fees, but you can avoid your check being returned to merchants causing you additional fees from them.


*The daily ATM cash withdrawal limit is a maximum of $500 per day based on sufficient funds in the account. The daily purchase limit is $1,500 per day subject to approval. 5 ATM refunds maximum per month. **Consumers and businesses must apply for Overdraft Protection and are subject to approval. There is a $100 minimum advance amount. The maximum amount of credit varies between $300 and $5,000 based on individual credit considerations. The minimum payment is 3% of the current balance or $10 whichever is greater, and is automatically deducted from the customer’s checking account ten days after their statement date unless a manual payment is made. 18% annual percentage rate. $6 annual fee.
***Customers are charged our paid item overdraft fee of $33 for each overdrawn item created by check, in-person withdrawals or other electronic means paid under the limit. An insufficient balance can result from several events, such as (1) the payment of checks, electronic funds transfers or other withdrawal requests; (2) payments authorized by the customer; (3) the return of unpaid items deposited by a customer; (4) bank service charges; or (5) the deposit of items which, according to the bank’s Funds Availability Policy, are treated as not yet available or finally paid. Customers should make every attempt to bring their account to a positive end-of-day balance as soon as possible, and must do so within 30 calendar days. First Reliance Bank is not obligated to pay any item presented for payment if the customer’s account does not contain sufficient funds. The bank may refuse to pay an overdraft item at any time even though we may have previously paid overdrafts for the customer subject to approval.

NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY FDIC INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS

All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts and money-market deposit accounts.
