Background

Pamela Anderson, Senior Vice President, People Management, joined First Reliance in June of 2006. Mrs. Anderson ‘s responsibilities include developing and implementing people strategies which enable all associates to achieve First Reliance’s vision  and as a team successfully accomplish it’s business objectives. Mrs. Anderson is responsible for all aspects of human capital management practices and polices which include, talent management, total rewards, organizational design, learning, leadership development, workplace diversity, HR transactional service and associate HR advisory services.  

Mrs. Anderson has more than 25 years of Retail Banking experience with Royal Bank of Canada, a premier global financial institution. During her tenure at Royal Bank, she held several senior management and executive positions in sales, human resources, information technology, quality service, and strategy.

As Vice President of Human Resources for the Retail Banking Group of Royal Bank, she was responsible for implementing strategic human capital management practices and polices for 34,000 employees located across Canada.

In 2001, she relocated to North Carolina to Lead the  work with Royal Bank of Canada’s Human Resources Team for  US Retail Banking subsidiary RBC Centura. as Vice President of Human Resources. Mrs. Anderson was responsible for day- to-day management of the human resource team, implemented various programs, which improved employee engagement and customer satisfaction, and successfully completed the integration of three bank acquisitions. Most recently, Mrs. Anderson was a Human Resource Consultant providing a variety of human resource services to small and medium sized companies.

Education

Mrs. Anderson graduated from the University of Alberta, Canada where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics. While employed with Royal Bank of Canada she received various professional certifications. Mrs. Anderson is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and holds a Senior Professional Human Resource Certification in the United States.

Memberships

Mrs. Anderson has always been active in the community, especially in the area of education. She was a member of the Conference Board of Canada’s Business and Education Forum on Science, Technology, and Mathematics for six years.  She also contributed to development of the Employability Skills 2000+Toolkit. . Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Board of Governors for Lakehead University, in Thunder Bay, Canada; and she was on the Board of Directors of Actua, a leading not-for-profit organization that developed youth outreach programs in the areas of science, engineering, and technology. Most recently, she was a member of the Futures for Kids Business Advisory Board in North Carolina.
