Background
Jeffrey A. Paolucci, Chief Financial Officer, Director, and Secretary of First
Reliance Bancshares and First Reliance Bank has over 13 years of banking and banking related experience.
Mr. Paolucci joined the bank in September 2002 and is responsible for collaborating with the CEO in overall
administration of the bank and directing a significant portion of the institution’s operations and strategic
initiatives. Additionally, Mr. Paolucci is responsible for financial management and operational performance,
credit review administration, risk management, accounting, audit and compliance, accounts payable, investments,
bank security, and facilities management.
Prior to joining First Reliance Bancshares and First Reliance Bank, Mr. Paolucci had been an FDIC Safety
and Soundness Bank Examiner in the Columbia, South Carolina field office since 1993. The majority of his
duties included administering and managing examinations of financial institutions ensuring compliance with
Federal and State banking regulations, financial regulatory reporting, asset/liability management, investment
analysis, capital market and funding analysis, de novo bank operations, and merger and acquisition oversight.
Mr. Paolucci served as an on-site management liaison and directed the closing procedures for various troubled
financial institutions. Mr. Paolucci served routinely as an Instructor at the FDIC Training Center in Washington
D.C., and served on the development council for de novo bank investigations. While at the FDIC, Mr. Paolucci
was recognized for Special Acts and Superior Performance.
Education
Mr. Paolucci is a 1993 graduate from the University of Akron earning a Bachelor of Science degree in
Finance/Accounting. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and is a Fulbright Scholar nomination recipient.
Memberships
Mr. Paolucci participates in a number of civic and charity organizations including the Florence West
Rotary Club. In addition, he is a member of the South Carolina Bankers Association Asset Liability Committee
and is on the Board of Directors for the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce.
